Murtha assumes room temp

Mentioned in another thread but diserves it's own.
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...p-murtha-dead/
He must have held the record as a porker politician. Having met the man (I will rummage around for a photo) he was the prototypical bought and paid for big mouth politician.

As the NYT news alert hit my email, I couldn't help but start humming along to that Queen song. Another one bites something something...

No it means we will double the amount of money going to airport to fund the new named memorial in the indoor atrium at the center.

With Murtha gone, will anybody use it anymore? The only scheduled flights are to/from DC.

It is somewhat ironic that his complications arose from surgery done at a .gov hospital (Bethesda) and when things were going south they took him to a private hospital for care (Virginia Hospital Center).

What's ironic is that those details were just glazed over in an interview with someone who claimed to be a good friend of Murtha and the fact that he died from complications of gaul bladder surgery because someone nicked the intestines is proof that we need health care reform and not tort reform because someone needs to pay for that error (paraphrased obviously from the TV that I have running in the background in the home office)

Amen, will never forgive after his slander of the USMC over Fallujah.

Out of deference to his service and the history of service in his family (going back to the Civil War) I'm not going to damn the guy, but those things he said about the Marines in Fallujah were so wrong. It was a betrayal.

I will. He was the epitome of exactly what is destroying our country, and we will all be better off without him. Good riddance.

I ddidn't wish the guy dead, but I did wish him gone from office. But you take what you get.

Now if Pennsylvania can get a string going by getting rid of the other worst of the worst politicians we have, like Kanjorsky and Specter.

Specter is in my dead pool already since he's starting to look like one.

I guess he's a little like Duke Cunningham.

Some good there, but yes, the guy certainly became exactly what is wrong with the federal government in general, and had become particularly loathsome on a number of occasions. The PMA group thing appears to go much deeper then what's been reported.

What process do they use to replace him? Special election? Gov selection?

There will be a special election in that district for the seat this spring. It will take place during the regularly scheduled round of local elections that will be going on across the state.

Perhaps a rogue botox injection will take care of that.

I can hardly think of anything more infuriating to the Marines and Sailors alike for the things he did and said. They could hardly pick a worse ship to do it to as well, an amphibious ship that transports Marines. Friggin stupid to take such a polarizing figure and so soon after he was gone poke everyone in the Naval service in the eye like this.
