I don't think I saw Mosport mentioned so I'll throw it up till someone finds a better one.

1) The track: Mosport
2) The format of the video: Windows Media
3) Video file size: ~15 meg
4) Track notes of some sort: 2 laps, 2nd one is clear of cars. This was my 1st time at the track so its kinda sloppy but will give you an idea if you have never been there. Also my 1st time at a track so fast.. Holy sheet! Can't wait to go back!

Does anybody have any decent video of Nelson Ledges, I've found a few but they aren't the greatest. Cheers.

1) The track: Sears Point with the chute
2) The format of the video: Quicktime movie (.mov)
3) Video file size: 3 mb
4) Track notes of some sort: from last week's testing and is just a warm up lap starting from leaving pit road . This only contains audio (I stripped out the video). I may replace this file in a couple weeks with one with video if any of the content turns out decent....
I have decent in-car video from the race but since it's on Speed and HDnet, there's no reason to spend time posting that.

But, here's a one lap+ clip from testing with a different driver: 20 year old kid, first time on the track in a tank with a ton of HP, and he hasn't been on a road course for 12 years (karting national champion), the car was tight and the tires on the car had 100 laps from a prior race. FWIW, his best lap was a 1:20.95 and was still dropping. You'll have to excuse the video quality. The mount I made that morning transferred way to much vibration and rattled the tape heads fairly well as the RPM's picked up. Oh well. Also, the video doesn't show the track to well because the tape was created to provide feedback to the driver. Trust me, you see things you'll want to critique and he already got an ear full later that night. If you know the track, you figure out the turns (it starts coming out of 11 and ends around 2) and considering his limited experience on this course, he did fine for his first time out.

To generate the above file quickly and make it small (it's only about 8 mb), I just used a canned video/audio export.

For much better quality, here's a link (I suggest downloading it so you can increase the video size):
Larger video - 68 mb:

Hey dude, I dont know if it was just a coincidence or not but I downloaded and watched your video and as soon as the vid ended my computer completely locked up solid and would not restart. I was getting error messages saying my hard-drive could not be found. I did a cold boot and it seems ok now, but dang.

It's a coincidence, in the sense that your system probably has some sort of stability problem (hard drive on the way out, or perhaps drive controller problems) that can be exacerbated by heavy hard disk access. Such behavior probably wouldn't be tied to the playback of any one particular video. If that was a direct reply to the post above yours, I watched the video and encountered no such problems.

That's what I figured. Just thought I'd alert DM in case there was something wacky coming from his end.

Perhaps my computer has an aversion to front wheel drive cars.

Our video site, track names and most info are there already. 2005 was one camera, MSR testing was the first driver cam, all of 2006 thats posted is front cam/driver cam, races 7-10 are all front cam, rear cam (7-10 are not posted yet)

Car is a 2006 C6 Z, steel chassis, LS2 based powerplant, 69mm restrictor, 7500 rev limter, toyo proxes spec tire, 3000# dry weight for most (most, heh) of the races. Ask away if you have Qs.

Various tracks are missing due to:

-Adjustments being made to the corvettes based off of the online videos
-taping issues
-secrets

Don't know if you have much for Firebird, so here's one:

1) The track: Firebird International Raceway, Phoenix. Main course.
2) The format of the video (wmv,avi.mpg...): wmv
3) How large the video file is: ~8MB
4) Track notes of some sort: April 06, dry conditions, Taurus SHO, NASA TTD. I think this lap set the TTD track record at FIR for a while (because nobody else showed up).

FIR FWD, heavy-car lap

Did anyone get video at the Phillip Holmes Trackday last week?

That was Thunderhill Racepark in Willows, Ca. on Oct. 19th.

If so, please post it.

My venerable Sony video rig is down.

Can you read German?
http://www.race-taxi.ch/

I can't, but this part doesn't need much translation:

# Typ: VW T1 (Split Window) 1962
# Motor: luftgekühlter Leichtmetall-Sechszylinder von Porsche (993 Bi -Turbo)

Bad internet translation

For taxi journeys on the racing distance, we build a VW bus

Jg. In 1962 (Split Window) with Porsche 993 Bi Turbo technology.

In 2002 we have begun with the rebuilding

Outside form possibly original maintain

Whole technology of Porsche (993 Bi Turbo)

Uncompromising construction for the racing distance

4 seats

Attention!!

At the moment we are to be tested with the Race taxi in the test phase around chassis settings. For the optics (spraying inside and outside) no time was still used. The current spraying is only one rust protection. After end of the test phase the vehicle is completely disassembled and only then the final spraying is applied. Afterwards the Race taxi is anew built up. Can be surprised.

Technical data:

Type: VW T1 (Split Window) in 1962
Engine: air-cooled light alloy-6-cylinder of Porsche (993 Bi Turbo)
Cubic capacity: 3,600 cubic centimetres
Achievement: Original 408 HP of late approx. 500 HP
Gear: Mechanical six-step transmission type 996 GT3 by cable train.
Brake assembly: inside-ventilated and punched discs, original Porsche 993 Bi Turbo with ABS.
Chassis: in front and behind Einzelradaufhängungmit to height-adjustable suspension struts.
Steering system: Servo steering of Porsche (993 Bi Turbo).
Wheels: 3-part racing sport rims BBS (8.5J x 18 in front and 10J x 18 behind)
Weight: Approx. 3527 lbs

I'm not that fond of the wheel spacers, and I wouldn't want to be driving it if it ever hits a wall, but other than that it's damned impressive.

Sebring 12 Hour Course

1) The track: Sebring 12 Hour Course
2) The format of the video: WMV
3) Video file size: ~7 meg
4) Track notes of some sort: one clear lap in a 1998 Mustang Cobra set up for American Iron. Please ignore the slight driveshaft rubbing noise and the classic rear cobra brake moan in the background. Here is the link to the lap on Streetfire.net: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/a...0828b1856b.htm

Will e-mail you just the wmv file upon request.

I've got a ton from Willow Springs, Infineon, Thunderhill, ButtonWillow, Fontana.

High quality stuff too.

I've started working with HD recently - makes my old stuff look like junk. I'm a Mac Pro guy now, so everything is done with FCP and Logic Pro and a Motu Audio Interfaces with a Mackie Control Surface and MAudio keyboard/midi controller.

I'm converting many of my HI8 digital tapes also, have about 1.5TB worth.

Sounds like Rob's stuff is way better than mine. I just have digital from a windshield mount Panasonic minicam. It is a lot better than the older stuff from the Cannon GL-2 that was mounted to the rollbar, but doesn't sound to me near as slick as what he has.

Rob, what groups are you running with since we are hitting many of the same tracks?

1) The track: VIR
2) The format of the video (wmv,avi.mpg...): youtube, lol
3) How large the video file is: 22~65MB
4) Track notes of some sort: Oct. 06 Grand Am Cup GS 6hr race. Driver is Dean Martin about 2 hours into the race following a restart. Other drivers for the race were Jack Roush Jr. and Ray Mason.

4*) Video notes: Poor video quality and lack of sound are due to the "beta" level of the digital recorder firmware we are using. Future videos will be of significantly better quality.

The only VIR North video I have is from the very first event when VIR re-opened back in March 2000. The North course cross-over has been rearranged a little bit since then, not to mention my car is the anti-thesis of fast. Actually, I just watched the first 15sec or so and the quality is crappy, plus the line just through the first couple corners is AFU (again, first even in 25 years at the track, so even the instructors were learning). Sorry...

I imagine that's the same CGT that was there when I did an Audi event at VIR last spring. I think the owner's a VIR Club member. I vaguely recall that it's a father and son car - the father doesn't push it very hard, the son is fast (or maybe vice versa?). I know one of them followed me a couple hundred yards back for a couple laps, and then turned up the wick when they'd had enough of that and blew by me. Needless to say, with all of ~205hp on tap in the rompin' stompin' Legacy, I didn't need to lift when I gave the point-by on the back straight!

I am fortunate enough to be able to do this Fall event as an instuctor with the Audi Club. Full Course VIR is as good as it gets. Trust me!

No need to tell me that! I've been to VIR 7 times, and 5 of those times were driving down from Connecticut - 10hrs each way. It's well worth it!
